The IFM DI5004 / DIA3010 platform is purpose-built for industrial cells where
standard nickel-plated brass barrels fail prematurely — washdown food zones,
chemical splash, marine deck machinery, steel mill slag areas and outdoor
conveyors. The 1.4301 stainless body, IP67 sealing and PNP NO+NC output make
it a drop-in upgrade for
M30 inductive sensor
sockets in retrofit cabinets wired to
Siemens SIMATIC,
Omron SYSMAC
and
Mitsubishi MELSEC
digital input cards.
Application Scenarios — Where It Fits
-
Hydraulic & pneumatic cylinder end-position feedback — rod-extended / rod-retracted limit detection on press lines, clamping cylinders and injection molding platens. See hydraulic & pneumatic sensor sets.
-
AGV / AMR obstacle detection — M30 non-flush sensing on automated guided vehicles routed by Fanuc or Yaskawa motion controllers.
-
Valve position feedback — ball-valve open/closed verification in chemical, water-treatment and oil & gas skids.
-
Food & beverage / packaging washdown — stainless body, IP67 and −25 °C to +85 °C span suit daily high-pressure cleaning. See food & beverage automation parts.
-
Steel mill & slag splash zones — where standard brass-barrel sensors would corrode within weeks.
-
Machine tool guarding & tool-changer verification — door-closed interlock and turret position confirm wired to Allen-Bradley or Schneider Modicon safety I/O.
-
Conveyor & pallet-stop detection — line-stop latch in factory automation cells and warehouse cross-belt sorters.
-
Vision line integration trigger — part-present signal to KEYENCE CV-series or Panasonic vision cameras for inline inspection.
Integration & Wiring Notes
The DIA3010-ZPKG/SS-000-K is a 4-wire DC device: brown (BN) = +V (10–36 V DC),
blue (BU) = 0 V, black (BK) = PNP NO output,
white (WH) = PNP NC output. Because the two outputs are
complementary (NO and NC switch in opposition), a single sensor can drive
both a run signal and a fault signal into a
1756-IB16IF
or Siemens ET200SP
digital input card — useful when PLC DI slots are scarce.
Wire the load between the output (BK or WH) and 0 V for classic PNP
sinking-input wiring into Asian-market PLCs (Mitsubishi MELSEC, Omron
SYSMAC, KEYENCE). Wire the load between +V and the output for PNP
sourcing-input wiring preferred by European controls (Siemens SIMATIC,
Schneider Modicon). The 10–36 V DC window lines up with the
standard 24 V DC rail used across
Allen-Bradley,
Mitsubishi
and
Panasonic
cabinets. If your application is a 3-wire sensor retrofit, the
IFM IFC-series
3-wire PNP is the cross-reference. For M12 connector variants instead
of the 2 m cable (K) exit, see the
IFM IG-series.
For diagnostics on noisy 24 V buses, run the cable through a ferrite
near the PLC end and keep the run clear of VFD power cables driven by
Yaskawa
or Schneider Altivar
drives. When you need a quick sanity check on a 24 V signal before
terminating, the
KOEED PLC Error Code Database
helps map field symptoms to the right input module.
Installation & Commissioning Tips
-
Respect the non-flush free zone: because the sensor is "Z" (non-flush), allow a minimum of 2×Sn of clear space around the active face. Flush-mounting it will reduce range by roughly 30–40 % and may cause instability on steel targets.
-
Torque the M30 nut to ~30 Nm with the supplied stainless lock-nut; over-torque will distort the active face and shift the nominal Sn. Use thread-locking compound on installations subject to vibration, such as machine tool guarding and AGV chassis mounting.
-
Cable bend radius: the 2 m PVC cable (K) is rated for static bend radius of 10× OD minimum. For drag-chain or continuous-flex duty, order the PUR-cable variant or transition to a connectorised IFM IG-series M12 version.
-
Target material matters: sensing range is specified on mild steel. Stainless and aluminium targets reduce range — multiply Sn by 0.6–0.8 for AISI 304, 0.4–0.5 for aluminium, when sizing cylinder-piston detection on pneumatic lines.
-
Washdown procedure: although the SS housing tolerates high-pressure cleaning, never aim the jet directly at the cable exit. Cap the gland with a self-amalgamating tape wrap for daily chlorinated-CIP zones in food & beverage plants.
-
Commissioning checklist: confirm (1) target enters the face squarely, not tangentially; (2) LED state changes within 10 % of rated Sn; (3) NO and NC outputs toggle in opposition; (4) input card LED on the Allen-Bradley, Omron or KEYENCE PLC tracks the sensor LED.
Procurement, Warranty & Lead Time
The IFM DIA3010-ZPKG/SS-000-K is held in our Shenzhen /
Hong Kong warehouse and ships worldwide via DHL, FedEx or UPS.
Single-piece and small-batch orders typically ship within
3–5 business days; full pallet or call-off schedules
are welcome — KOEED is set up for B2B long-term supply contracts and
multi-year maintenance budgets.
All sensors are inspected against IFM packaging, batch and traceability
codes before release. Warranty is handled under KOEED's standard
industrial-automation terms (defects in materials and workmanship;
12 months from invoice date on standard parts). For an out-of-warranty
spare, a refurbished equivalent is often available — see
KOEED AI Diagnostic Tool
for a free part-number look-up and cross-reference, or send the failed
sensor's nameplate photo to
Moritta@KOEED.COM
and we will respond the same business day.
