• Grounding. Bond the controller chassis and the target fixture to a common low-impedance ground; floating grounds show up as poor ion balance.

• Set air pressure by meter. Start at 0.2 MPa, step up by 0.05 MPa, stop when static-decay time stops improving.
• Verify ion balance at commissioning. Use a charge-plate monitor at the target distance; trim the controller’s balance pot until offset is inside ±30 V.
• Plan cleaning intervals. Wipe the emitter tip weekly with isopropyl alcohol; wire the cleaning-request output to a PLC counter.
• Treat the HV cable gently. No pinching or sharp edges; a damaged jacket arcs to ground and trips the controller alarm.
• Keep a spare on the shelf. A failed emitter is a line stop — one SJ-L005M per shift-critical station is the usual rule.
