Brake polarity & suppression. The 24 V DC brake coil is polarized — reverse it and the brake will hold while energized instead of releasing. Fit a flyback diode at the brake contactor side if your machine cycles more than 4–6 stops per minute.
Auto-tuning. Run one-touch auto-tune with the load decoupled, then re-coupled, before locking the gains. On MR-J4 / J5 platforms, vibration-suppression filters 1 and 2 (PB1x / PB2x) are usually needed because the small rotor + keyed shaft resonates near 200–400 Hz.
