SX14Q006 — 5.7" 320×240 QVGA Industrial LCD Panel (KOE / Tianma NLT)
KOE · SX14Q Series · 5.7" QVGA · In stock · Worldwide shipping
The SX14Q006 is a 5.7-inch QVGA (320×240) industrial-grade LCD module from the well-known
KOE SX14Q family,
originally produced by KOE Optoelectronics and now continued under Tianma NLT. KOEED stocks the SX14Q006 as a
drop-in replacement for legacy HMI, CNC, and machine-tool operator panels where the original display has
failed or reached end-of-life. The 5.7" diagonal and 320×240 resolution make it the de-facto standard for
industrial factory
automation text and small-graphic panels, and the panel is a common substitute for OEM
screens on equipment from Allen-Bradley,
Siemens,
Mitsubishi,
Omron,
Fanuc,
Schneider,
Yaskawa,
Panasonic and
KEYENCE
platforms that shipped between the late 1990s and the early 2010s.

The SX14Q006 is a transmissive TN panel designed for industrial environments. It uses a parallel RGB interface
(6-bit/8-bit color) and an FPC tail connector — the same mechanical format as the rest of the KOE SX14Q
family, so most mounting brackets and gasket cutouts from the previous screen can be reused. Typical brightness
is around 70–80 nits, well-suited to indoor operator panels and control cabinets rather than outdoor
direct-sunlight use. Unlike a modern TFT HMI, the SX14Q006 is a raw panel — it does not include an
integrated controller. You will need an external controller board (RA8875, SSD1963, STM32 LTDC, or similar) to
drive it. KOEED also supplies pre-validated controller board + panel bundles for engineers who prefer not to
write a low-level TFT timing driver from scratch.
2. Application Scenarios / Where It Fits
The SX14Q006 has been deployed in factory automation, CNC machinery, test equipment, and material-handling
systems across all nine brands KOEED supports. Common integrations include:
- Replacement display for legacy Allen-Bradley PanelView and SLC 500 operator stations.
- Refurbished Siemens SIMATIC OP3 / OP5 / OP7 panel retrofits driven from an S7-200 or S7-300 back-end.
- Machine-tool operator stations running Mitsubishi MELSEC FX3U or Q-Series PLCs.
-
Omron SYSMAC CP1E / CJ2M HMI retrofits where the original NB or NS screen is no longer available.
-
Fanuc 0i-MD and 30i-B CNC diagnostic text panels on machine tools over 10 years old.
-
Schneider Modicon M340 and Magelis XBTGT retrofit display modules.
-
Yaskawa MP2300 Σ-7 servo cabinet text panels and Σ-V drive status displays.
-
Panasonic FP-X and FP7 PLC operator stations paired with a GT-series programmable display.
-
KEYENCE CV-5000 vision system status displays and inspection station readouts.
Beyond factory automation, the SX14Q006 is also used in laboratory test equipment, bench-top instrumentation,
and AGV (automated guided vehicle) dashboard screens where its compact 5.7" form factor and well-documented
parallel-RGB timing simplify embedded design. Browse related

3. Integration & Wiring Notes
The SX14Q006 uses a parallel RGB interface with 8-bit color depth (also configurable to 6-bit for cost-sensitive
designs). The pinout follows the KOE standard SX14Q-family assignment, so if you have a previous SX14Q001 /
SX14Q003 / SX14Q005 design, the FPC footprint is generally compatible — only the backlight inverter
voltage and the CCFL-vs-LED variant need to be re-validated against the latest datasheet.
Backlight options: early SX14Q006 variants shipped with a CCFL backlight driven by a separate
inverter board (typically +3.3 V or +5 V logic, with +400 to +1000 V AC at the lamp). Newer revisions use a
white-LED backlight driven from a constant-current source. Confirm the backlight revision on the unit label or
datasheet before wiring — KOEED's procurement team can cross-check the suffix on your part number to make
sure the inverter or LED driver matches.
Controller selection: the SX14Q006 is a timing-sensitive raw panel. A controller IC with
on-chip TFT timing generation is recommended. Common pairings are RA8875 (for MCU-based designs), SSD1963
(for STM32 / NXP LPC), and STM32 LTDC (for higher-end designs that need DMA-driven framebuffer updates).
KOEED's engineering team can help match the controller to your host platform — just include the host
MCU/MPU and a short description of your application in the RFQ email. For cross-design questions on
factory-automation
panels in general, the KOEED engineering blog is also a useful reference.
EMC and cable length: keep the FPC tail as short as possible and route the parallel RGB lines
away from noisy drive circuits (servo amplifiers, VFDs, contactor coils). For panels placed more than 150 mm
from the controller, use a twisted-pair / shielded flat-flex extension designed for RGB interfaces. If you
need help sizing the controller-to-panel distance, send the mechanical drawing to
Moritta@KOEED.COM
and our engineering team will respond with a recommended layout.
4. Installation & Commissioning Tips
Mechanical: the SX14Q006 is normally mounted with a 4-bead M2.5 bezel around the active area.
Use a rubber gasket between the panel and the bezel to absorb shock and to meet IP54 cabinet-sealing
requirements. Do not torque the bezel screws above 0.2 N·m — over-tightening will crack the glass.
ESD precautions: the panel uses a TN cell that is sensitive to ESD. Before handling, ground
yourself with a wrist strap, and keep the panel in its anti-static bag until the cabinet is ready. Apply
power only after the FPC is fully seated and the locking bar of the connector is closed.
Initial power-on sequence: ramp the logic supply (typically +3.3 V) first, then enable the
backlight inverter / LED driver at least 50 ms later. Reversing this sequence can cause the column drivers
to latch in a partial state and shorten panel life.
Display calibration: once the panel shows a stable test pattern, run a 16-step gray ramp to
confirm that the dithering / FRC behavior of your controller is acceptable for the application. Some
applications (medical imaging, metrology) need true 8-bit color; most industrial HMIs are fine with 6-bit +
FRC. KOEED's free
PLC Hex to Float Converter
is also a useful sanity-check tool when you are writing the color-mapping LUT for the panel.
Thermal: the operating temperature range is typically 0 °C to +50 °C, and storage is
-20 °C to +70 °C. For cabinets with sealed enclosures, plan for either a heat-sink pad behind the
panel or filtered forced-air cooling if internal air temperature will exceed +45 °C.
5. Procurement, Warranty & Lead Time
KOEED stocks both new-old-stock (NOS) original KOE SX14Q006 panels and current Tianma NLT production units.
Original KOE stock is the preferred choice for one-to-one replacement of a failed unit in a 5–15-year-old
machine, because the FPC tail and backlight connector match exactly. Tianma NLT production is recommended for
new design-ins and for customers who need ongoing multi-year supply.
Every panel is ESD-tested and visually inspected (no dead pixels, no backlight hot spots) before shipment. The
standard warranty is 12 months from invoice date, with extended warranty options available on request.
Worldwide shipping is provided via DHL / FedEx / UPS, with a 24-hour quote turnaround on business days.
Lead time depends on the variant: CCFL-backlight original KOE stock typically ships within 3–5 business
days; LED-backlight Tianma NLT production is 2–4 weeks. If you have a hard equipment-down situation, mark
the RFQ as URGENT and KOEED will prioritize allocation from our Shenzhen and Hong Kong warehouses. To request a
quote, send the part number, quantity, target backlight type, and a short description of the host controller
